Can I get two cheers for Thanksgiving? What a fantastic holiday, especially when you are 27 week pregnant and get to eat whatever in the hell you want! I would venture to say this was the best Thanksgiving of all time... yummy food, great family, yummy food, shopping, yummy food, cold weather, yummy food (I think you get the picture)! In not so great news, the bean and I had a little scare the night before Thanksgiving (warning to the male race, you might not want to read any further)! To sum up the disgustingness in nice words, I thought my water was leaking/broke! This is really, really scary seeing as though there is nothing you can really do if your water breaks. It leads to hideous infections and imminent preterm delivery, which we all know I am really scared of having a premie. I was at work of all things, so I ventured down to labor and delivery. It was here that my worst nightmare and best dream all came true! Good news: my water did not break... YAY!!! Bad news: a lovely cold speculum exam, without lube mind you, and intimate things being poked, prodded and looked at really closely! I will never forget this moment, so no need to relive the details on here. The doctor told me that this change in "flow" was due to normal 3rd trimester changes... disgusting! I guess I will have to learn to live with it!
So, the house is still driving me crazy, which is not hard to do these days! I feel as though we are completely moving into a new house, seeing as how all of our crap is packed up in boxes. I am afraid that I am working a little to hard cleaning and moving items, which I have been doing ALOT of! I just feel bad kicking my feet up and sipping lemonade while bossing Mike around. Since this "water breaking" episode I have tried to step it down a notch, which leaves me feeling as though it will NEVER get done! During one of my many breaks I caught a glimpse of one of the most precious, cool and disturbing things I have ever seen. This movement was so obvious that I caught it with the corner of my eye! It was the bean, doing acrobatics in my belly, and I could see some of her body parts moving from the OUTSIDE! It was very alien-like but sweet and precious at the same time! It is strange to me that I am able to tell where she is and vaguely which body part is moving! I am sure it will only get more pronounced, yikes! Mike was laughing hysterically and I was just well... hysterical. Something inside of me was contorting my belly into a bunch of weird shapes. Got to love her!
More to come on her name and pictures from the shower (28 weeks). This one is not my fault people, I am waiting on Kathy to get me the pictures! On a side note: YAY for the longhorns!!!
How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Didn't weigh myself this week. I figured nothing good could come from it seeing as how I ate my weight in food during thanksgiving.
Maternity clothes? Wow, pea in the pod has the most darling maternity clothes, if you are a millionaire! I got to do some fun modeling for the grandma's though!

Sleep: Getting better, lets pray this trend continues!
Best moment this week: Seeing the bean do some wicked, crazy moves from the OUTSIDE! She is getting so big and strong. And of course, the food if I haven't mentioned that already!
Movement: Oh yes! I don't know if movement is the best word... maybe leaps, bounds and crazy rolling maneuvers! My mom still hasn't gotten to feel a good one :( She says that it because the bean wants to be good for GG... sure!

Gender: A sweet little miss.
Labor Signs: No thank you!
Belly Button in or out? The tip is poking out a little, I am not in a good place to talk about this.
What I miss: Seeing some of my friends... Mike and I have not gotten to hang out as much between this flooring disaster, the holidays and being out of town!
What I am looking forward to: Starting to get her room in order, it is going to be precious!
Weekly Wisdom: The labor and delivery nurse told me that it was possible that next time I get an "increased flow" make sure it is not me peeing on myself... wait just a minute, what did you just say????
Peeing on yourself.... LMAO! I think every pregnant woman has been told that... turned out that actually DID happen to me! LOL!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you had that scare!!! I am glad everything is ok!!
ReplyDeleteIt is REALLY fun eating over the holidays when you are pregnant! :)
HAHA April! Maybe I shouldn't be laughing, it will probably happen to me too!
