Well, hello there!

So this week, three really great things happened for Mike, the bean and I. First and foremost, we got to see her again... YAY!!! How we got to see her again... that is the not so great part. The day before my 30 week appointment the little miss decided to give mommy quite the scare, which I have the funny feeling this will not be the last time she puts the fear of God into me! She decided that she wanted to have a lazy day, and no matter how much I poked and prodded her, she was just not going to move. Luckily, I had my little friend as a back-up to save my sanity... the heart doppler. And there it was, the 50 times I checked it that day, happily beating back at me (tear). So, the next day at my appointment I tattled on her. I told the Dr. what a stubborn little bean she had been. So, much to our excitement we got the pleasure of gawking at her on the ultrasound machine. Everything was perfect and she is still the cutest baby I have ever seen, even though she makes me a little upset sometimes. I cannot believe how big she has gotten, she needs to slow down a bit!

The bean also got to meet Aunt Leslie for the first time and of course she absolutely loved her! Leslie watched in amazement as I scarfed down a whole plate of dessert nachos... yummy! The bean had some apologizing to do, since we will not be able to make it to Leslie's wedding in Hawaii because I will be to far along :( It was great catching up with her and I hope she gets to stay in Austin so she can meet my beautiful baby!

Now for the drum roll... our maternity pictures! We have Cheryl Muhr to thank for making all three of us look gorgeous! Here are a few for you to admire :) We were really happy with how they turned out!

How far along? 30 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: Up 15 pounds total! Our photographer hides it well :)

Maternity clothes? It was fun dressing up for the pictures, I was able to showcase some of my favorites!!

Sleep: Feeling pretty good, keeping my fingers crossed.

Best moment this week: Seeing the bean, although it was for a scare! Also, getting to feel beautiful again in my maternity pictures :)

Movement: Yes! And please keep it coming bean, just stay away from the cervix!

Gender: A sweet little miss.

Labor Signs: No thank you!

Belly Button in or out? Out, that is all I need to say about that!

What I miss: Being able to hold my pee for 12+ hours, that was a long ago dream it seems like! I think I know where every public bathroom is in Austin.

What I am looking forward to: Getting our nursery furniture. Our glider is here, just waiting on the rest!

Weekly Wisdom: Get maternity pictures taken, you will be so glad you did! This is the most amazing memory that needs to be treasured forever!

Suckerpunch!

All I can say is WOW! I was casually strolling around in Marshall's the other day when my life changed forever :) All of the sudden it felt as though I has been suckerpunched in the crotch... and not by a three pound fetus, but by Mike Tyson. Now, I have had the casual cervix punches here and there but this massive amount of pain last for a good 20 minutes. As I hobbled out of the store wincing in pain I suddenly had an epiphany of "Is this her trying to come out, is this the unbearable pressure women speak of?" I had no choice but to phone my friendly neighbors in labor and delivery. Now, it is a good thing I know these nurses dearly, as I work with them on a regular basis, because I call them about the craziest things! So, I told Michelle (L&D nurse) about our little problem and she just laughed and told me that she was probably just resting her head on my cervix. Huh? Well, all I knew is that she needed to move and move fast! At first I tried to talk her down off the ledge by begging and pleading with her to move, to which she did not care to respond. So I laid down on my left side (like Michelle told me to) and waited for an excruciating 5 minutes for her to get the hell of my cervix... nothing! I was starting to get really impatient at this point so I attempted to move her myself, which was not good idea. It only resulted in her kicking me in the ribs. Looks like I had no choice but to wait it out, for which I was glad that I was alone, because I was not a happy camper at this point. Thankfully she finally decided to cut me some slack and the pressure was relieved, after a good 30 minutes. Okay mamacita, you win... as usual!

How far along? 29 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: If we are going by how I feel... then I feel like an fat, asthmatic, 80 year-old woman.

Maternity clothes? Starting to spend a little too much money in this arena, but it is not cute to show your mid-driff when you are 7 months pregnant.

Sleep: I hate to jinx it, but I may be feeling the mythical energy burst (in my third trimester) although it is still really small at this point.

Best moment this week: Hearing that our glider has arrived. People, you have not experienced life until you have sat in this glider!

Movement: Yes, although I wish she would have moved off my cervix, where was the movement then... huh?

Gender: A sweet little miss.

Labor Signs: No thank you!

Belly Button in or out? Out, that is all she wrote folks!

What I miss: Being able to bend over. I do not think I will ever take this simple thing for granted again.

What I am looking forward to: Washing all of her clothes and picking up our glider, I have a feeling that is where you will find me most of the time.

Weekly Wisdom: Never be afraid to call your friendly neighborhood labor and delivery, as they say to me every time... better safe than sorry!

Mike, the bean and I had the most wonderful baby shower this past weekend in Houston with all of our family and friends! All three of us feel so incredibly loved! It was really special to have everyone in one place to celebrate the baking of this little bean (that is for you Kathy)! We played some shower games, which if you have never played games with the Brennan family, you are in for a surprising competition. I believe that a Brennan woman won every single game that we played, which is not shocking at all! Way to go ladies, you make me so proud!!! We also had some great food, which was my favorite part of course. My mom and Ron did a fantastic job with everything and we are so incredibly lucky to be blessed with such a wonderful GG and grandpa (Ron, we are still waiting on your name of choice).

On another not so good note, the Longhorns almost sent me into pre-term labor! The "game" against Nebraska was a little to close for comfort and I am now wondering how we are going to fair against Alabama. I might need to watch that one in labor and delivery :) Normally I am a jump around and scream type of girl, but the bean did not really appreciate that, so I was reserved to sit on the couch and allow my blood pressure to skyrocket anyways. Kathy and Mike were nuts enough for all of us and it was quite entertaining to watch Ron, Mike and Kathy down vodka shots after we won, which under normal circumstances I would have been the leader of that pack... sigh. Please keep Mike, the bean, the Longhorns and I in your prayers, I have a felling we are all going to need them!

How far along? 28 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: Up another pound, don't care to disclose the total this week :)

Maternity clothes? Still loving them, I am sure that I have said before that I do not think I will ever go back to regular jeans!

Sleep: Still getting better, keep those prayers coming!

Best moment this week: The baby shower, it was so wonderful that we were able to see everyone and share the joy that the bean has brought into our lives!

Movement: As Mike says: I think we have a little soccer player on our hands!

Gender: A sweet little miss.

Labor Signs: No thank you!

Belly Button in or out? Still not in a good place to talk about this, it really makes me sad wondering if I will ever have a normal belly button again.

What I miss: Control of my burping! This is so gross, but I just can't help the burping situation, if it is there then it is coming out!

What I am looking forward to: Starting to get her room in order, it is going to be precious!
